Other news

Another bedroom refurbished at West Lodge Park – this time it is Room 56, with a new Zoffany wallpaper, new Samsung flat screen TV mounted on the wall, new bathroom lighting and immaculately painted woodwork.

New portrait delivered to the Mary Beale Restaurant – this fine portrait by Mary Beale is of Edward Stillingfleet who was Dean of St Paul’s Cathedral at the time of its rebuilding by Sir Christopher Wren. The day after the great fire of London in 1666, he preached an impassioned sermon in St Margaret’s church Westminster – the crowds were so thick in the church that Samuel Pepys gave up trying to get in and went to the pub instead! And finally…

…many thanks to David McIntyre, Front of House Manager at West Lodge Park and to Nicola Loasby, Revenue Manager, for managing the installation of a brand new Room Master property management and EPOS system into the hotel. This is a hair-raising project involving the manual inputting of thousands of room reservations, wine list and bar codes, menu items, guest histories,etc. This is the first major upgrade of our IT since 1989, and some would say, about time too! We went live on the 10th August and all has gone pretty smoothly [pics of David & Nicola right].
