Estates news

…Yet another room at WLP has been entirely stripped and refurbished – this time it is Room 15, with a deluxe Hypnos pocket sprung bed, 23” Samsung flat screen TV, new wardrobe, new desk and chairs, and a black and gold scheme, transforming this room from a tired single into a contemporary double room with great views to the front of the house. [pic right].

…At BH, final go ahead for the stunning top floor is expected this month. The scheme is now fully worked up with smart interior designs, and all technical details now complete, to give a modular construction off site of 19 rooms, a new gym spa area, and air conditioning to the existing rooms.

…Summer works for the Estates team revolves around the outsides of the two hotels, with an extensive programme of exterior painting, as well as a terrace extension at WLP, and extraction from the still room at BH. 80 new chairs and lots of new tables have been purchased for the Cedar Restaurant as phase one of the refurbishment of the restaurant and bar at WLP which will be completed by the end of February 09.

Health and Safety news

Health and safety audits have been carried out by Nick Tilley, our environmental health consultant, with WLP rising in score from a lowly 64% last year to a superb 88% this year – thanks to hard work by Chris Hall [left hand pic] and Grant Cook [middle pic]. Meanwhile at BH, the score last year was a superb 84% and just down fractionally this time to 82% – still a great effort by Daniel Healey [right pic]
