Investors in People visit to Beales Hotels

Thank you to everyone who took part in the recent IIP review which was set against a new, more rigorous standard. Whilst the Assessor, Martin Turner, found much to praise, the overall findings are summarized as follows:

“The Investors in People Post Recognition Review conducted by Martin Turner on 3rd March 2006 concluded that Beales Hotels is not fully meeting the Standard and therefore the company is now in Retaining Recognition status.
Retaining Recognition means that Beales Hotels is not meeting all the evidence requirements in some areas of the Investors in People Standard but at the same time it possesses a strong commitment to return to the Standard within a given time period. Beales Hotels will demonstrate this commitment through the preparation of an action plan detailing how the company intends to meet the areas of the Standard not met.
In the meantime, Beales Hotels is able to retain its recognition as an Investor in People and can continue to display the plaque, certificate and logo.”

Plant A Tree at WLP

have a look online at www.bealeshotels.co.uk to see a copy of our new tree planting offer – available to anyone holding a function at WLP, BH or BB. The opportunity to plant a tree to celebrate a special occasion, or in memory of a loved one, is something special that to my knowledge no other hotel offers.

Welcome to

…WLP – Andre Welman, C & B Manager, who joins us with a wealth of experience gained at Down Hall, and in 5 star hotels in South Africa.
…BH – Louise Witton, Reservations Manager, who has most recently been working at the Ramada Jarvis in Leeds, and joins a growing team at BH.

Congratulations to

Sharon Blackgrove (BH) promoted to C&B Sales Manager, and Clare Markham (BH) promoted to Head Receptionist.

Spring Gardeners’ Notes –

on the web which detail in depth all the activities that have kept our garden team busy over the winter months. The most notable project has been the removal of the main drive hedge at WLP which opens up to areas of the Beale Arboretum rarely seen before.

BH – Buckland Suite

The first major project of 2006 – at Easter new carpet, new wallpaper, and associated decorations will transform this space, while new Burgess chairs will help complete the contemporary look at BH in time for the summer wedding season.07.
