We have a vacancy for an experienced NIGHT PORTER on an part time basis at WEST LODGE PARK HOTEL.
About the role
- Night Porter required, to assist Reception Team, Night Manager and Hotel Management with various duties, and provide Hospitality, Reception and Security service from late evenings until early mornings.
- Part Time, working 2 night shifts per week, 19 hours per week, worked over 2 shifts (18 hours worked PW, plus 30 minutes unpaid break per shift), shift hours expected to be 10.30pm to 8am approximately, some flexibility needed, in line with business needs.
- Work pattern will usually be Sunday and Monday nights, which will include some Weekdays, weekends, Bank Holidays and key operational business days, (e.g. Christmas, New Year, Mothers’ day etc.), if required to work on those days by Hotel management, as per Rota.
- Please note: there will be a requirement to occasionally work some additional nights on an ad hoc basis, e.g. to cover for holidays etc. as/when needed.
- Key tasks include: Carrying out Security Checks throughout the night, providing some Reception service, including Checking Guests in and out of the Hotel, assigning bedrooms, issuing keys, taking payments.
- Dealing with various enquiries (via phone, email, in person), including fulfilling guest/ residents’ requests. providing Food and Beverage Service, after Restaurant/Bar have closed, incl. hot/cold beverages (dispensing alcohol), making sandwiches Kitchen has closed.
- Also assisting Conference & Banqueting with preparation (setting up and clearing down) Function rooms, and general cleaning (e.g. hoovering Restaurant/Bar/other Public areas, toilets etc.)
- Role requires someone who has the skills to carry out Reception and Hospitality service duties, as well as Security-related tasks.
- Responsible and trustworthy, able to work independently (with minimal supervision), as well as being part of a Team.
- Good interpersonal skills required, with , someone who can provide a warm welcome/concierge standards for our guests/visitors.
- Ability to interact in a friendly, approachable way; also able to deal with any Security issues in a professional, diplomatic and appropriate way.
- Flexible, resilient, good work ethic, able to work under pressure and multitask
- Able to provide food and Beverage service, no barriers to serving alcoholic beverages.
- Physically able to lift, carry, move supplies and equipment, including furniture, as this role requires setting up and clearing down function/event rooms, as/when needed.
- Literacy and numeracy skills required, e.g. when dealing with enquiries, making bookings, totalling Invoices/Bills and taking payments.
