…Grant Cook and his team on the successful completion of the refurbishment of another WLP bedroom – this time it is Room 28 which has received a smart new Zoffany wallpaper and an immaculate repaint of all the woodwork and ceiling. A lovely superior double bedroom. [see pics bottom right].
Other News
This season at WLP we are using a new marquee company, Pridewatch Events, based in Luton. They ran under the former name of Jasper Marquees and have much experience locally. Their main selling point is the warehouse in Luton where they have a fully erected marquee on show at all times, somewhere we can send prospective brides and grooms to have a look. New TV channels have been installed at BH, including Film 4, ITV2 and BBC 4, as well as Radio 2. [pic top right]
WLP Honey goes on sale this month, created by our own beekeepers Ron and Mary Hunter, and bottled up in lovely WLP honey jars! [pic bottom left]
Fantastic reviews on both hotels by guests who have booked via the online sites laterooms.com and booking.com have resulted in the highest ever ratings for the two hotels:
On Laterooms, 91% of guests would recommend WLP to friends, while 92% would recommend BH to friends. 93% of guests would stay again at WLP and 91% would stay again at BH.
On Booking.com, WLP rates at 8.7 out of 10 and BH rates 8.4 out of 10.
These ratings are far and away the highest anywhere around and are taken from over 400 independent reviews. They demonstrate our continued commitment to fantastic care of our guests at both hotels.
The driveway at WLP was filmed this month for Channel 4 who are making a new documentary about the Queen and needed a nice avenue of trees fit for Her Majesty! [pic bottom right].
And finally…
some green shoots to this recession? It would appear so when our sales at WLP in particular are improving markedly. However we are not complacent and will continue to do what we do best, namely look after our guests with great value and fine food, well maintained accommodation and brilliant well trained staff.
