We have a vacancy for an experienced RESTAURANT MANAGER on a full time basis at WEST LODGE PARK HOTEL.
Experienced Restaurant Manager is required for a 4**** Rosette Hotel.
About The Role
This is a key Management and Operational Food & Beverage role within the Hotel, and the ideal candidate should possess excellent management and leadership skills, high level of communication and interpersonal skills, flexibility and resilience, plus ability to assist in leading, motivating and developing a Food and Beverage team to consistently deliver minimum 4* level hotel service & customer service to all our guests/visitors.
With 90 covers in the Restaurant, plus up to 90 in the Bar and Terrace, the ideal candidate will possess excellent Food & Beverage management skills, to motivate and develop the team and take charge of managing all aspects of the Restaurant, Bar and Terrace F&B Service.

The role is Full Time role, on slightly reduced hours*, currently working 38.25 hours per week (plus 30 mins. unpaid break per shift), worked over 5 days per week.
Working hours include weekdays, weekends, Bank Holidays and key business operational days (e.g. Christmas, NYE, Mothers’ Day etc.) in line with business needs.
*Please Note: The full-time hours for this role are usually 45 hours P.W. (excluding unpaid breaks), currently reduced to 38.25 hours P.W. (excl. breaks); these hours may increase back up to 45 hrs P.W. (excl. breaks) at some stage in the future – TBC in line with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of Restaurant Food and Beverage business, coordinating daily Restaurant, and working closely with/alongside Bar and Terrace operations and Kitchen.
- Ensuring delivery of a high-quality menu and motivating the team to provide excellent customer service, to maximise customer satisfaction.
- Oversee the Restaurant, Bar & Terrace, ensure efficient operation from team members, check customers are happy, balance seating capacity etc.
- Lead by example to assist and uplift the team during busy moments in our fast-paced and high-quality environment, to ensure the Restaurant service always runs smoothly and customers have pleasant dining experiences.
- Proven track record of upselling and encouraging F&B Team to drive sales
- Respond proactively, efficiently, accurately and professionally to customer complaints.
- Estimate future needs for goods, equipment, utensils and product supplies, plus control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste.
- Organise and supervise shifts, rotas, holidays etc. and oversee/manage costs within Restaurant budget.
- Carry out training & development, plus implementing and sustain consistent standards, in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and four-star hotel service standards.
- Oversee compliance with relevant Health & Safety Regulations as they relate to the Restaurant, Bar and Terrace Team.
About you/your Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience of Food and Beverage related Management or Operational role, within a quality hospitality/leisure/customer facing environment (ideally within a 4* Hotel/similar and/or with AA rosette experience).
- Strong operational and leadership skills, with a hands-on and lead-by-example work style.
- Excellent presentation and an outgoing, friendly and confident personality.
- The ability to problem-solve and deal with complaints in a positive and professional way.
- Professional, flexible and resilient, with ability to work under pressure and ability to multi-task, so as to successfully manage conflicting work priorities.
- Commitment to delivering an excellent level of customer service and high operational service standards.
- Proven experience as a line manager, with strong leadership, motivational and people skills.
- Organised, proactive, good attention to detail and a can-do attitude essential.
- Excellent levels of both written and spoken English are essential, along with good numeracy and a good level of IT proficiency.
- Good food and beverage knowledge, with ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform and ideally make recommendations to customers and F&B staff.
- Relevant level of Food & Beverage, Wines and Spirits qualifications required (Level 2 WSET, Level 2 Food Safety etc. or similar). Personal Licence holder preferable, but not essential.
- Good level of commercial awareness and sales capabilities, with previous experience of managing a department and Profit and Loss account would be ideal.
