Congratulations to the following on their promotion within Beales Hotels

Wayne Turner from Head Chef West Lodge Park to Executive Chef Beales Hotels. Wayne will still carry out his duties at WLP but will have additional responsibility for overseeing the kitchen teams at both BH and BB, helping with staff recruitment and retention, supplier selection and specification, and assisting with menu planning at each hotel. (see pic left)

Iain Murray from Deputy General Manager West Lodge Park to Hotel Manager WLP (see pic right). Iain will be working alongside Andrew Beale who, as MD of the group and of the hotel, will also take a more hands on role at WLP.

Farewell to:

David Williams GM at WLP. David is sadly moving on to manage Barnham Broom Hotel near Norwich. We wish him every success in this bigger and more challenging role and have every confidence that the hotel will benefit from his skills and abilities as much as WLP has over the past 3 years. He will be greatly missed by all (pic right).

Estates news

BH:
The Buckland Suite has been refurbished with a very striking carpet and a neutral wall colour to give a much more contemporary feel to the space, in keeping with the rest of the hotel and will the expectations of our guests. Artwork and chairs will follow next month.

WLP:
Room 43 is now complete and work now starts on painting and re-wallpapering the first floor bedroom corridor – a huge job that will continue into the autumn as the second and third floors follow on. Work continues on the design for the new signs at WLP (see right).

BB:
Quotes are being prepared for new carpet in the public areas – the original has been in place since the hotel opened in 1990 and has outlived its life.

Congratulations to Nicola Loasby on achieving her A2 Assessors qualification and also on her promotion to Cluster Revenue Manager for WLP and BH. Well done Nicola!
