Estates News
Beales Hotels have reached the shortlist of two prestigious awards :
Finalists in the Sustainable City Awards 2008 run by the Lord Mayor of London – with over 120 entries, we are in the final 5!
Finalists in the Coutts Bank 2007 Family business of the year award – again in the final 5 for this award. We will know the results of both shortly.
The saga of the top floor at BH rumbles on with no clear answer – the latest costs from the builders are too high so we are working at bringing these down to a more reasonable level. In the meantime the Estates Team at both hotels is busy painting the outside areas including the front elevation at WLP and the south elevation at BH.
And finally…
at a glittering reception at Coutts Bank in the Strand on Thursday, Beales Hotels won a special commendation for Business Heritage and Transformation in the Coutts Prize for Family Business National Final with the award of a fantastic personalised cartoon by Robert Duncan which will go up in the public areas at WLP. This National Award is the highlight of the family business calendar and is much sought after.
The judges commented on the effective way in which the company had re-invented itself over the generations while keeping true to core family values and maintaining a strong sense of pride in the family nature of the business.
Beales Hotels had already won the regional final for London and the South East for Family Business of the Year in the £5M – £25M turnover category.
